With some tweaks, added features, and upgrades, you are bound to find something you fancy at Mitsubishi Namibia.

All cars in the range come with a 300 000 km warranty. According to Karl-Heinz Eisenberg, the sales executive at the motor dealership, they also offer warranty extensions. "Service plans for each vehicle differ," he said.

Xpander

The Xpander is the true soccer-mom car without being classified as a minivan. The spaciousness of the seven-seater makes it effortless to expand your lifestyle. It boasts alloy wheels and wide-flared fenders that exude toughness and power at first glance.

Thanks to the vehicle’s superior ground clearance, the road can be handled with confidence, whether it is rough, flooded or fully loaded.

"This vehicle also performs well on gravel roads," Eisenberg said. Safety is a priority with airbags and ABS, "so no matter what the situation, you will always be taken care of when driving."

The Xpander offers smooth performance and low fuel consumption of seven litres per 100 km, and even less for the manual. The 1.5-liter engine is advanced with Mitsubishi’s intelligent, innovative, valve timing and lift electronic control system and puts ample power at your command with more than enough torque to carry seven people.

It is more of a traditional vehicle with a regular key, central locking, and an alarm system. It does have a rear fan for the passengers at the back. If you don't need the full capacity, the seats in the back fold completely flat, creating extra boot space. "You can even go camping in this vehicle."

Triton

If you need a bigger vehicle with the practicality of a dedicated workhorse or the luxury and versatility of an SUV, the Triton is smooth and delivers on a powerful performance. The 2.4-litre intercooled turbo-diesel engine consumes 8.3 litres per 100 kilometers.

"It is a diesel turbo-charged and what I love about this particular vehicle is that every liquid is cooled. It has a gearbox cooler and diesel cooler underneath the car," he explained.

Eisenberg said the Triton is meant to work hard with a lot of development in the Australian Outback, which is similar to Namibia’s environment. Not only is this car capable, but it's also luxurious, with push-to-start ignition, seven airbags, ABS traction control, and electronic brake force distribution. The five-seater offers great legroom for the passengers in the back.

"The loading capacity is just under a tonne, and for a 4x4 to be able to do that, especially a double cab, is quite impressive."

ASX

The 2l ASX is known for its reliability and trustworthiness.

"There’s no funny business. It’s a down to earth two-litre petrol engine, with no turbos," he said, adding that it is kind of an odd size, which he likes.

The ASX has two versions, the LS and ES, of which the latter is considered an entry-level vehicle and a bit more basic with two airbags, whereas the LS provides seven airbags.

Both have ABS traction control. The vehicle is rated at 7.5 litres per 100 kilometers. It has a dramatic new face, featuring prominent new LED headlamps with built-in LEDs and LED fog lamps.

All in all, this vehicle combines the benefits of a compact SUV with a spacious interior, ample boot space, and extra height with the fuel efficiency of a smaller car.

Eclipse Cross

New features of the new generation Eclipse Cross include an additional 140mm in length, resulting in a sleeker and more athletic look.

"This is available only as a top-of-the range 2-liter engine, and it doesn’t get better than this," Eisenberg said.

The revised rear suspension features larger shock absorbers, springs tuned for optimum response, and a rigid connection to ensure precision and stability. It also boasts the Mitsubishi power sound system. "This is a very quiet car to drive, predominantly for you to enjoy the stereo."

It gets 8.1 litres per 100 km and has more than 400 litres of boot space.

The vehicle also offers side-impact protection, hill start assist, and rain-sensing windscreen wipers, making sure you are always safe while driving. "This vehicle truly has it all," Eisenberg said.

If you are in the market for new wheels, go for a test drive at Mitsubishi. They can assist with financing, and you can drive off into the sunset in under a week.
