NamPost, BW, Daures Green Hydrogen change guard
NamPost, Bank Windhoek and Daures Green Hydrogen Village have all announced changes to their top leadership this week.
NamPost appoints Willem Mouton as CEO
NamPost has appointed Willem Mouton as chief executive officer for a five-year term, effective 1 August 2026.
Mouton moves up from chief operating officer, a role in which he oversaw operations and business performance.
NamPost board chairperson Dr Simeon Amunkete said Mouton's experience and knowledge of the organisation made him the right choice to lead it.
"The board is delighted to appoint Mr Mouton as chief executive officer. His proven leadership, extensive executive experience and deep understanding of NamPost's operations make him exceptionally well placed to lead the organisation into its next phase of growth and transformation," Amunkete said.
Before joining NamPost, Mouton was chief executive of United Africa Group and head of business development at Nampro Fund.
He holds an MBA in Organisational Leadership from the University of Roehampton in the UK, an MBA in Business and Commerce from Stellenbosch University, and a Higher Diploma in Accounting and Finance from the Polytechnic of Namibia.
Bank Windhoek confirms Leon Koch in retail banking role
Bank Windhoek has permanently appointed Leon Koch as executive officer for retail banking services, effective 1 July 2026.
Koch, who has more than 35 years of banking and insurance experience, will oversee one of the bank's largest customer-facing divisions, spanning its branch network, vehicle and asset finance, and property finance businesses.
He joined Bank Windhoek in 2017 and has since held several executive roles across the Capricorn Group, including at Capricorn Private Wealth and in commercial, bancassurance and business banking. He has also acted in both the retail banking services and Capricorn Private Wealth roles.
Bank Windhoek managing director James Chapman said the appointment reinforces the bank's focus on customer relationships and service delivery.
"Leon Koch brings deep market knowledge, proven executive experience and a clear understanding of what customers expect from a proudly Namibian bank," Chapman said.
Koch's career spans personal, commercial and branch banking, along with senior management roles in Namibia and elsewhere in Africa. He holds a Master of Science in International Banking and Finance from the University of Salford, completed through Salford Business School in Zurich.
Daures Green Hydrogen Village reshuffles leadership
Daures Green Hydrogen Village (DGHV) has announced a leadership change as it enters the second phase of its project.
Co-founder Jerome Namaseb has stepped down as chief executive to become board chairperson, where he will focus on strategy, governance and stakeholder engagement. Board member Martin Nambundunga has been appointed interim chief executive while the search for a permanent CEO continues.
DGHV said it had completed its demonstration phase, testing its model of combining renewable energy, green hydrogen production and agriculture. The organisation has appointed Mondjila Project Management and Advisory to oversee planning for Phase 2, which is expected to focus on scaling operations and commercial development.
