NamPost, banks name new leaders
NamPost, Standard Bank Namibia and RMB Namibia have announced changes to their leadership structures, including a new board and two senior banking appointments.
NamPost appoints new board
NamPost has announced the appointment of a new board of directors by information and communication technology minister Emma Theofelus, effective 1 August 2026.
The board has been appointed for a three-year term, ending on 31 July 2029.
The new board comprises Dr Simeon Lasarus Nangolo Amunkete as chairperson, Fabian Shaanika as deputy chairperson, Lydia Nalishe Nghaamwa as director, Naftaline Meth Tjitemisa as director, and Petrus Pendukeni Hiwilepo as director.
The reappointment of Amunkete and Shaanika provides continuity in NamPost's governance, institutional oversight and strategic direction.
NamPost chief executive Willem Mouton welcomed the appointments and thanked Theofelus for entrusting the incoming board with the responsibility.
He said management looked forward to working with the board to advance NamPost's mandate and strategic priorities.
Board chairperson Amunkete said the board was committed to providing sound governance, effective oversight and strategic guidance in support of NamPost's mandate and long-term sustainability.
Standard Bank appoints Namaseb
Standard Bank Namibia has appointed Jerome Namaseb as executive officer for Personal & Private Banking, effective 3 August 2026.
Namaseb joins the bank's executive leadership team with more than a decade of experience spanning banking, financial services, strategy, product management and executive leadership.
Most recently, he led the development of one of Namibia's pioneering sustainable infrastructure initiatives. He has also held senior leadership positions in the financial services sector, where he was involved in business growth, product innovation, customer value propositions and strategic market expansion.
Namaseb holds a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Actuarial Science and Mathematics from the University of Manchester and a Bachelor of Economics Honours degree from the Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST).
Standard Bank Namibia chief executive Erwin Tjipuka said Namaseb's experience and strategic insight would support the bank's efforts to strengthen its customer proposition and deepen client relationships.
"He brings a wealth of experience, strategic insight and a proven ability to deliver commercial growth while building high-performing teams," Tjipuka said.
Namaseb said he looked forward to working with the bank's teams to deepen customer relationships, enhance its value proposition and deliver innovative solutions.
RMB appoints von Hase
RMB Namibia has appointed Tim von Hase as head of Trade and Treasury Solutions, effective 1 May 2026.
Von Hase joins RMB Namibia from FNB Namibia, where he served as retail credit head, leading the retail credit sanctioning and collections teams responsible for about half of the bank's balance sheet.
He brings more than a decade of experience across banking, consulting and industry, with expertise in credit, lending, business transformation and operational improvement.
His previous roles at WesBank, FirstRand Namibia, Lithon Project Consultants, Barloworld Power and IQ Business have given him experience across the operational and financial challenges faced by businesses at different stages of growth.
Von Hase holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Industrial Engineering from Stellenbosch University and has completed professional qualifications including Lean Six Sigma Green Belt and Agile Project Management.
RMB Namibia chief executive Daniel Motinga said the appointment reflected the bank's focus on helping businesses manage cash flow, fund growth and trade across borders.
"Trade and Treasury Solutions sits at the centre of how businesses operate every day," Motinga said.
"Whether clients are managing cash flow, funding growth or trading across borders, they need practical solutions backed by people who understand both finance and business."
Von Hase said his focus would be on working with clients to deliver practical solutions that improve efficiency, support better decision-making and give businesses greater flexibility to pursue new opportunities.
