Namibian fruits showcased in Italy (Agri Monitor)

Dates, table grapes, blueberries, pomegranates, citrus fruits and vegetables are some of the references that Namibian operators export to Europe, Asia, and the Middle East, where the market for luxury fruits flourishes. The Namibian embassy to the Italian Republic (resident in Paris, France) together with the Namibia Investment Promotion and Development Board (NIPDB), are leading a high-level Namibian delegation to Macfrut 2025 – Italy’s premier Fruit and Vegetable Expo – taking place at the Rimini Expo Centre in eastern Italy."Namibia’s participation reflects our strong commitment to boosting agricultural trade, attracting investment, and showcasing the premium quality of our fresh produce including grapes, dates, citrus, pomegranates, blueberries, and vegetables," said Namibian ambassador to France, Albertus Auchamub.According to him the first day of Macfrut 2025 was a resounding success for the Namibian delegation."We hosted a well-attended cocktail reception at pavilion D4, stand 052, which served as a dynamic platform for engagements, media interactions, and high-level networking. The expo’s official opening by the Italian agriculture minister added great momentum to the day’s activities," Auchamub said."We are proud to see Namibia’s premium grapes, citrus, dates, pomegranates, blueberries, and vegetables generating keen interest among international buyers and investors. NIPD said with Namibia's thriving agricultural sector and wide range of quality products, the country wants Macfrut as a platform to showcase its offerings and foster business partnerships. "With their expertise in producing fruits like grapes, dates, and citrus, Namibian companies like the Namibia Agronomic Board, Namibia Industrial Development Agency, and Muadifam can strike deals with international fruit importers, distributors, and potential investors at Macfrut. "Collaboration with European retailers and wholesalers could facilitate the export of Namibian fruit to new markets, strengthening the country's global presence and economic growth."
