Five local firms make Namdia client list
Namib Desert Diamonds (Namdia) has announced the completion of its client selection process, appointing 32 companies to its client base for the 2026/27 to 2028/29 period.
The state-owned diamond marketing and sales company said the process attracted 75 applications from companies across the globe, in what it described as one of its most competitive selection rounds to date.
Applications were received from Namibia, Belgium, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), India, Hong Kong, Israel, Singapore, the United States, Armenia and Zimbabwe.
Following what Namdia called a comprehensive and rigorous evaluation process against predetermined criteria, 32 companies were selected to form its new client base for the next three years.
Five Namibian companies are among those selected: Avalon Diamonds, Fine Star Jewellery and Diamonds, Gem Blue BV, Sinco Investments and Stargems Manufacturing.
The remaining 27 successful applicants are based in Belgium, the UAE and India, and include Diamond India Limited, Rosy Blue NV, Venus Jewel, Dharmanandan Diamonds, M Suresh Company, Narola Diamonds, Shree Ramkrishna Exports, The Source Diamonds and Pluczenik Diamond Company, among others.
Namdia said the calibre of applications received reflected strong international demand for access to Namibia's natural diamonds, describing this as evidence of continued global confidence in the quality and value of the country's diamond resources.
The company congratulated all successful applicants and said it looked forward to building strong, transparent and mutually beneficial partnerships over the coming three years.
