Creative expo gets backing

Bank Windhoek has committed N$250 000 in support of the Creative Sport Tourism (CST) Expo 2026, a national platform that will bring together Namibia’s creative, sport and tourism sectors at the Hage Geingob Stadium in Windhoek from Wednesday, 2 to Friday, 4 September 2026.Organised by Emerald Sand Platforms, the CST Expo is positioned as Namibia’s first integrated platform dedicated to showcasing national talent, enterprise, innovation, and destination appeal across three sectors increasingly recognised as drivers of economic growth and international visibility.Bank Windhoek’s support will enable the Bank to participate in the exhibition and conference platform, where it will share its revised Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) Customer Value Proposition with entrepreneurs, exhibitors, visitors and sector stakeholders. The sponsorship aligns with the Bank’s ethos of supporting platforms that create access and opportunity for Namibian businesses and communities.Bank Windhoek’s executive officer of marketing and corporate communication services, Jacquiline Pack, said the Bank is proud to support an initiative that placesNamibian creativity and enterprise at the centre of national development.“The Creative Sport Tourism Expo speaks to the heart of what Bank Windhoek believes in, which is connecting people, businesses and communities to opportunities that help them grow,” said Pack.Designed to create a vibrant environment where business, culture, sport, tourism and community engagement intersect, the Expo is expected to attract more than 18 000 visitors. It will feature sector-specific exhibition zones, SME showcases, cultural villages, sporting competitions, live stage performances, workshops, networking engagements and digital participation opportunities.In the creative sector, the Expo will provide platforms for artists, designers, musicians, filmmakers, content creators and cultural practitioners to access markets, audiences and partnerships. The programme includes fashion, spoken word, theatre, gaming, visual arts, cultural performances, seminars, masterclasses and the CST Awards.The sport component will promote youth participation, talent identification, healthy lifestyles, inclusivity and national branding through sport. Activities under consideration include football, rugby, volleyball, netball, basketball, chess, e-sports, marathon and road races, cycling and other community-based sporting experiences.The tourism component will showcase Namibia as a modern, diverse, and experience-driven destination, featuring exhibitions, cultural villages, culinary tourism experiences,SME trading zones, and workshops to encourage domestic tourism, strengthen the tourism value chain, and create opportunities for local operators andcommunities.Pack added that Bank Windhoek’s involvement reflects the Bank’s broader commitment to inclusive economic participation. “Many of the people who power the creative, sport and tourism sectors are entrepreneurs, SMEs and community builders. Our contribution is therefore not only sponsorship; it is an investment in the ideas, skills and energy that move Namibia forward,” said Pack, who encouraged the public and key stakeholders to attend and participate in the CST Expo 2026.
