Information ministry announces capital projects
News in short
Deputy information minister Emma Theofelus yesterday announced key capital projects the ministry has undertaken during the year.
The ministry collaborated with the sports and gender ministries on sponsorship and campaigning-related projects, she said.
"The ministry has concluded a partnership with the sports ministry - through the Namibia Sports Commission - to sponsor national colors for all teams representing the country."
The sponsored attire will bear the ‘My Namibia, My Country, My Pride’ logo.
“This endeavour is part of our commitment to using sport as one of the tools to deepen national pride and foster unity,” Theofelus said.
Furthermore, a gender-based violence (GBV) campaign concept was developed and presented to the gender ministry and other stakeholders, she said.
The campaign aims to empower men and boys to actively discourage toxic masculinity and address issues related to GBV.
Meanwhile, the ministry has finalised the Access to Information Act regulations and submitted it to the Office of the Attorney General for certification.
"Once the regulations are approved by parliament, it will mark the commencement of the Act and subsequently the establishment of the Information Commission Office.”
