Trade Watch: February 2026

Namibia exported N$6.6 billion and imported N$11.8 billion in February 2026, leaving a trade deficit of N$5.2 billion for the month.


Gold led the export charge at N$1.8 billion, while fish claimed commodity of the month honours at N$1.3 billion, a nod to Namibia's thriving fishing industry. On the import side, petroleum oils topped the list at N$2 billion.


South Africa was Namibia's top trading partner on both sides of the ledger, while roads carried the bulk of trade movement, N$2.3 billion in exports and N$7.3 billion in imports. The Port of Walvis Bay remained the country's busiest gateway, processing N$2.1 billion in exports and N$3.9 billion in imports.
