Second Oil and Gas report launched

Namibia Oil and Gas officially launched its second Bi-Annual Industry Report last week, convening key stakeholders to reflect on the country’s rapidly evolving energy landscape. The event, held on 2 March 2026, was supported by Africa Provider Offshore Services.The report offers data-driven analysis and strategic insights into the developments shaping Namibia’s oil and gas sector. The launch attracted a diverse group of senior executives, policymakers, financial institutions, and industry professionals, underscoring the intense local and international interest in Namibia’s energy potential.Sanjay Korteweg, founding partner of Namibia Oil and Gas, stated during the event that the report reflects the significant progress made within the sector. He noted that the initiative is designed to share credible insights and strengthen collaboration, ensuring that industry information remains accessible to Namibians as the sector continues to mature.Véronique Herman, CEO of Africa Provider Offshore Services, emphasised the critical role of reliable data for local companies aiming to participate meaningfully in the industry. She noted that informed decision-making is essential in such a high-risk environment and stressed that Namibian companies within the energy sector must support one another to build a stronger collective presence.Presenting the report, Cobus Theyse highlighted its practical value, explaining that it provides a clear snapshot of key projects, exploration activities, and supply-chain developments. He stated that the document serves as a high-level overview of current developments and future prospects, enabling stakeholders to identify emerging opportunities within the energy ecosystem.Beyond the formal proceedings, the engagement facilitated constructive dialogue regarding long-term sector development, risk management, and sustainable growth.
