Manica and Frans Indongo Group partner for Port Terminal

The Manica Group Namibia and the Frans Indongo Group have officially announced a strategic partnership for the construction of the Rennies Indongo Port Terminal (RIPT). The project consists of a massive 9,000 square metres bulk warehouse facility located directly within the Port of Walvis Bay. The two companies recently conducted an inspection of the site, where civil works are progressing through the early stages of construction. The site visit included Ralph Ruiters, Managing Director of Manica Group Namibia, and Jeremy George, CEO of the Frans Indongo Group, alongside senior officials from both organisations.The investment in the facility is a direct response to rising cargo volumes and the accelerating demand for regional trade solutions. By securing a strategic location inside the port, RIPT aims to significantly improve turnaround times for shipping lines and cargo owners by reducing the transit distance between the quay and storage."This new facility strengthens efficiency. It's in-port location enables us to discharge and load cargo more quickly for our clients, as the distance between the quay and the warehouse is significantly reduced," Ruiters said.Jeremy George said the Frans Indongo Group invests in real economy infrastructure that underpins growth and creates long-term value. He said that logistics remains foundational to Namibia’s competitiveness as a regional trade hub. The Rennies Indongo Port Terminal is a strategic platform that strengthens regional trade flows and builds productive capacity. In partnership with the Manica Group, we are combining operational expertise and capital to support sustainable growth," George said.As the Port of Walvis Bay continues to expand as a gateway for Southern Africa, the RIPT facility is expected to drive operational efficiencies and improve service delivery. The companies said the investment demonstrates their strong commitment to supporting Namibia’s growth as a leading logistics hub.
