More than 100 underprivileged children in Hakahana, Katutura, experienced a joyful festive season after Yango Namibia partnered with the Help4Nam charity organisation to provide meals, care packages and gifts to children at the Katutura Needy Hearts facility.

The initiative, which took place last Friday, forms part of Yango Namibia’s ongoing corporate social responsibility efforts aimed at supporting community welfare and child development across the country.

Yango Namibia, part of the global technology company Yango Group, supported Help4Nam’s children’s project to ensure vulnerable children could enjoy a dignified and memorable holiday season.

Through the contribution, Katutura Needy Hearts was able to serve each child a nutritious meal, refreshments and dessert. In addition, children received gifts containing essential toiletries, fruits and sweet treats, helping to address both immediate nutritional needs and basic personal care.

The celebration was marked by lively interaction between the children and Yango representatives. Six Yango executives and country representatives attended the event, dressed in festive Christmas attire, including Santa Claus hats. The children entertained their guests with Christmas songs and dances, creating a warm and joyful atmosphere.

Big impact

Chief business officer of Yango Group, Adeniyi Adebayo, said the initiative reflects the company’s commitment to making a meaningful difference in the communities it serves.

“As champions of community development, Yango Namibia aims to regularly give back to society,” Adebayo said. “This partnership with Help4Nam has brought smiles to the faces of children in our community. The festive season is about joy and togetherness, and we are honoured to help ensure that underprivileged children in Windhoek can celebrate with warm meals and essential necessities.”

Help4Nam Namibia operational manager Charlotte Sitler expressed gratitude for the support, noting the impact the donation has had on the organisation’s work.

“We are deeply thankful for Yango Namibia’s support of our children’s project,” Sitler said. “This generosity has enabled us to feed more than 100 children, providing not only nourishment but also dignity and hope during the festive season.”
