Windhoek Beer Festival debuts
The Windhoek Beer Festival is set to make its official debut today at the Wanderers Sports Field in Pionierspark in Windhoek, following a postponement last year due to unforeseen circumstances.
Marketing and events coordinator Desmond Shaduka yesterday said preparations were progressing well ahead of the festival, which promises a day of music, entertainment and social experiences.
Shaduka said festivalgoers can look forward to performances by DJ Spuzza, Gazza, Top Cheri, Tate Buti, The Ells and One Blood, among others.
The programme will also feature DJs The President, Asserdeep, Shoza, Erro, Kadafi, Alba Nalo, Djane and The Rhythm.
Beyond the performances, attendees can enjoy different beer brands, food stalls, local vendors and lifestyle experiences, with activities running from 12:00 until midnight.
Shaduka said the festival aims to bring people together through music, entertainment and shared experiences while celebrating Namibia's entertainment culture.
He added that the experience will extend beyond the main event through a pre-festival activation party and an official after-party.
Bringing vibes and energy
“Fans can expect an energetic, entertaining and memorable performance," DJ Spuzza said.
“I’m looking forward to bringing my sound, connecting with the crowd and creating an atmosphere where everyone can enjoy themselves. I want people to sing along, dance and genuinely feel the music,” he added.
“It’s also exciting to be part of the very first edition of the festival, knowing that we are contributing to the beginning of something that could grow into a major annual event,” he said.
Influencer Innety Ndjuluwa, popularly known as Mommy Wiwi, said her role involves creating awareness and excitement ahead of the festival through social media.
“My role is basically to bring the vibes before the actual vibes. I use my social media platforms to create awareness, get people talking and build excitement around the festival. I do this through my content, stories and just being my usual bubbly self,” she said.
Mommy Wiwi said she was looking forward to the music, fashion, people and atmosphere.
“And to anyone still sitting at home contemplating whether they should come, this is your sign. Get that ticket, call your friends, plan your outfit and come outside.”
Shaduka encouraged festivalgoers to get their tickets and experience the event.
“We are excited about what we have put together for this year's festival and cannot wait to see everyone there,” he said.
