Delysia ||Garoës (35), whose body was found in a riverbed in Damara 15, Katutura, this week, has called for swift action as the community reels from the disturbing discovery.

The police said the body was discovered around 06h00 between Frans Hoesemab and Fillemon Eicheb Streets.

People who live near the riverbed said ||Garoës was calling out a name when she was found a few minutes before her death.

Her brother, Ricardo ||Garoëb, who identified the body, said people told the family that she was lying in the river, barely moving, and calling out a name. “We ran there immediately and arrived just as the police arrived. Her dress was lifted, and her underwear pulled down.”

The mother of four had slight injuries on her feet.

No suspects have been identified yet.
