For over 10 years, tjil, the entertainment brand for Network Media Hub, has been consistently making a mark in the music industry, writing and covering art and entertainment events.
Now, the award-winning brand is expanding by starting a new and exciting journey: launching its first podcast-themed show titled Reel Spill.
The weekly show, set to air every Saturday at 19:30 on NTV (Dstv channel 285), oneuptwo.com and GOtv (Channel 25), as well as on Network Media Hub’s social media platforms including Facebook and YouTube, will offer an in-depth look into the stories of public figures in Namibia’s arts and entertainment industry.
Produced by Michael Kayunde, the first four episodes of Reel Spill promise to bring a fresh approach to entertainment storytelling. The inaugural episode will feature DJ Dreas, a renowned music producer and events curator, who will share insights into his career and journey in shaping Namibia’s music scene.
On what viewers can expect from the series, Kayunde said the show is designed to provide a platform for public figures to tell their personal stories and journeys to success. “Namibia does not really have a TV show that focuses on allowing public figures in entertainment to share their stories behind their success in different art forms, and this show will document those stories,” Kayunde explained.
Host Ester Kamati echoed the sentiment, expressing enthusiasm for engaging with Namibian creatives. “I am a supporter of the Namibian arts and entertainment industry. Being a follower of their work, there are behind-the-scenes stories that rarely get told, and I am sure a lot of supporters out there also have questions about what goes on behind the scenes and when the cameras stop rolling. I will be asking these questions to unearth these inspiring stories,” she said.
With its unique blend of podcast-style conversation and television presentation, Reel Spill aims to fill a gap in Namibia’s entertainment landscape, offering audiences an intimate look at the people who shape the country’s cultural scene.
