NTB takes Namibia's tourism offering to China

The Namibia Tourism Board (NTB) has launched a four-city tourism roadshow in China, aimed at strengthening tourism ties and creating business opportunities in the Chinese market.The roadshow, branded Meet Namibia China Roadshow, officially opened in Beijing on 30 October, bringing together Chinese travel agencies, meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (MICE) buyers, industry associations and media representatives.The launch was attended by Bertha Amakali, minister counsellor at the Namibian embassy in China, alongside an NTB delegation led by its head of marketing, Charmaine Matheus. Selected Namibian inbound tour operators also formed part of the delegation.Ethiopian Airlines, an NTB airline partner, was among the industry stakeholders participating in the event.The roadshow aims to showcase Namibia's tourism offerings, strengthen relationships with Chinese travel industry stakeholders and explore opportunities for increased tourism business between the two countries.Four-city engagementFollowing the Beijing launch, the delegation is scheduled to continue to Nanjing, Hangzhou and Shanghai, where it will engage with tourism industry representatives and potential business partners.The presentations highlight Namibia's tourism experiences, including the dunes of Sossusvlei, wildlife safaris in Etosha National Park, luxury accommodation, photography opportunities and tailor-made travel packages.The initiative forms part of NTB's efforts to position Namibia as a destination for Chinese travellers through direct engagement with travel trade representatives and the development of strategic industry partnerships.The roadshow also provides an opportunity for Namibian tour operators to establish business relationships with Chinese travel agencies and MICE buyers, potentially expanding Namibia's visibility in the Asian travel market.-Namibia Tourism Board
