New chief calls for completion of Zambezi water project
NEWS IN SHORT
Chief Munintenge Moraliswani III has called on government to urgently complete the remaining phases of the rural water pipeline network in the Zambezi region.
Speaking during his inauguration last Saturday, the chief said villagers in the eastern parts of the region are still waiting for access to clean water, years after the launch of the project, despite the critical need.
“We still have a lot of our rural villages east of Zambezi Region that are waiting for potable water,” he said.
The pipeline, which is expected to extend from Bukalo to Ngoma, is seen as vital for improving health and livelihoods in rural areas.
The chief urged authorities to accelerate progress on the delayed infrastructure rollout.
