NamWater rations water in the O-regions till 2 March
NamWater on Wednesday announced scheduled water interruptions for the Oshana, Ohangwena, and Oshikoto regions between 22:00 and 04:00 every day from 26 February until Sunday, 2 March.
NamWater spokesperson Lot Ndamanomhata said the corporation is experiencing technical difficulties caused by Oshana water entering the conveyance system (the canal), which has negatively affected both water quality and production volumes.
In a statement, Ndamanomhata explained that to prevent a water crisis, the water supply will be rationed.
Essential service institutions such as hospitals, schools, police stations and clinics that may face critical water shortages are urged to contact the acting operations manager for Cuvelai, Victoria Haikali, at 0811608846 or the schemes superintendents, Raphael Endjala, at 0811245597 (Oshana and Ohangwena) and Nicodemus Ndemwiimba at 0811455267 (part of Ohangwena, Oshana and Oshikoto).
