A 42-year-old man from Oluno died on Wednesday, just days after allegedly being assaulted and robbed by four unidentified attackers at the Omakulukuma location in Ondangwa.

The deceased, identified as Nathanael Mbonge, reportedly told a witness he had been attacked on Sunday, 16 November, by four unknown men who robbed him of his cellphone and wallet.

Oshana police crime investigation coordinator, Deputy Commissioner Frederick Ndjadila, said Mbonge spent the night of 18 November at a friend’s house, where he was last seen alive at around 06:00 on Tuesday morning.

“On Wednesday, 19 November, at around 00:00, when the reporter, who is a friend, went back to his room, he found the victim kneeling on the floor with his face against the floor, but he was neither talking nor breathing,” Ndjadila said.

Police confirmed that the deceased did not receive medical attention following the alleged assault. The incident was reported around 01:05.

Police said no arrests have been made so far, and the suspects remain unknown.

Investigations are ongoing.
