Johnathan Beukes takes the helm
NEW DIRECTION: The Namibian yesterday announced the appointment of Johnathan Beukes as its editor, effective 16 March.
He replaces Tangeni Amupadhi in the role. Beukes becomes only the third editor of The Namibian since its founding in 1985. The position was previously held by founding editor Gwen Lister and, later, Amupadhi.
Following interviews last week, Beukes was selected over senior staff members Shinovene Immanuel and Ester Mbathera.
