Capricorn Changemakers bring joy to Swakop kids
Capricorn Group, in partnership with Connect People to People, hosted a Capricorn Changemakers Charity Day in Swakopmund recently, bringing festive cheer to more than 300 vulnerable and disabled children.
Children from Chain and Sunshine Centre enjoyed a full day of activities, including train rides, rope tree courses, virtual reality fun, skating and mini golf. Dave Hammond of Connect People to People said the event aimed to create joy, discovery and lasting memories.
The initiative forms part of Capricorn Group’s Changemakers Volunteer Programme, which encourages staff to uplift communities. According to the group’s Victoria Moller, the company is committed to creating supportive and inclusive spaces for children.
Motivational speaker and Paralympic swimmer Gideon “Amphibian Namibian' Nasilowski also inspired the children, encouraging them to pursue their potential. “If I can do it, you can do it,” he said.
The event featured Christmas gifts, music and shared meals, capturing the spirit of community and compassion.
