Today, the African Child Development Trust (ACDT), a Namibian philanthropic initiative, will start distributing educational booklets for the second semester.

A total of 30 000 booklets will be delivered across all 14 regions, ensuring that over 500 early childhood development centres and pre-primary schools benefit from the initiative.

Notably, the booklets are available in nine languages, catering to Namibia’s linguistic diversity.

“We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the sponsors and partners who have played a pivotal role in making this endeavour possible,” the trust said in a statement.

“Their support has been instrumental in providing these educational resources to children throughout Namibia. We thank the ministry of education, arts and culture, the Capricorn Foundation, First National Bank, Powerline Africa and Namibia Media Holdings.”

Accessibility

To maximise accessibility, the physical booklets will be available once a month through two channels. Firstly, they will be included in all Namibian Sun newspapers and Republikein street sale newspapers, reaching a wide readership.

Additionally, the booklets will also be distributed to schools and centres across the country, ensuring a physical distribution option for interested individuals.

It's important to note that the booklets in Namibian Sun will be published in different languages, aligning with the regions where the newspaper is distributed, the ACDT said.

This strategic approach ensures that children can engage with the materials in their preferred language, fostering effective learning experiences.

The trust's commitment to promoting pre-primary education in Namibia is commendable, and this initiative marks a significant milestone in providing educational resources to young learners across the nation.
