KALKFELD RESIDENTS WELCOME FIRST AMBULANCE
: Kalkfeld has received a fully equipped ambulance worth more than N$1 million, ending years of appeals from the community for dedicated emergency transport, after the Namport Social Investment Fund (NSIF) sponsored the vehicle.
The donation is expected to significantly improve emergency medical services at the local clinic for residents of the settlement and surrounding farming communities, where access to timely emergency transport has long been a challenge.
The Otjiwarongo Constituency Office also donated a maternity bed worth approximately N$52 000 to strengthen maternal healthcare services at the clinic.
The ceremony additionally included the handover of firefighting equipment aimed at strengthening the settlement's capacity to respond to and contain fire outbreaks.
"This ambulance belongs to the people of Kalkfeld and is intended solely for patients referred from the Kalkfeld Clinic to Otjiwarongo, or for patients who require direct transfer to Windhoek," Otjiwarongo Constituency director of health and social services, Gebhardo Timotheus, said.
