Nida, Nafau seal wage deal
SHORT NEWS
The Namibia Industrial Development Agency (Nida) and the Namibia Food and Allied Workers Union (Nafau) have reached an amicable settlement in a wage dispute, ending months of negotiations over employee remuneration and working conditions.
The agreement, which covers the 2024/25 and 2025/26 financial years, was concluded with the support of the industries ministry. According to both parties, the deal improves working conditions for employees while safeguarding operational efficiency.
“This full and final settlement is a significant step in guaranteeing labour stability and continuity of operations,” Nida management said in a statement.
Nafau welcomed the agreement, saying it reflects progress in advancing workers’ rights while maintaining industrial harmony.
Nida emphasised that the resolution allows the agency to remain focused on spearheading Namibia’s industrialisation agenda without disruptions.
