#JustIn: Judgment expected in two appeal cases
High court judge Hosea Angula will deliver a verdict tomorrow in two separate appeal cases brought by two convicted men who hope to have their sentences reviewed.
Jonas Rupare Kaleyi was convicted of rape and assault in the Rundu Regional Court in September 2021 and sentenced to 10 years imprisonment and a fine of N$1 000 or alternatively, three months imprisonment. His appeal is against his conviction and sentence.
Bonny Titus was found guilty on one count of dealing in cannabis valued at N$41 500 and in June 2022. He was sentenced to 36 months imprisonment, of which 12 months were suspended for five years. Hy is appealing against his sentence.
Both appeals were defended by the State.
