Court gives Menzies temporary lifeline

Menzies Aviation Namibia will be allowed to continue providing the ground-handling services at the Hosea Kutako International Airport - at least for the next three weeks.
This until they return to court to hear whether an application seeking an order compelling the Namibia Airports Company (NAC) to give them more time to vacate the airport will be sanctioned.
This comes after Judge Shafinana Ueitele yesterday postponed proceedings to 4 July.
Yesterday’s proceedings were seen by those in attendance as a loss for NAC, who wants Menzies out.
After last week’s Supreme Court judgment, NAC had given Menzies three days to finalise handover arrangements. Menzies subsequently lodged the latest court proceedings, a move which effectively allowed it more time to operate.
With Paragon Investment Holdings waiting in the wings to succeed Menzies at the airport, they too will have to wait a bit longer to learn whether they can commence ground-handling work.
