#JustIn: System error causes shut-down of UK's air space
It would appear that all planes leaving from or flying to the United Kingdom have been temporarily grounded as a result of a fault experienced by its air traffic control. The UK’s air space remains closed, even though NATS (National Air Traffic System) seems to be trying to assure the public of otherwise: “We are continuing to work hard to resolve the technical issue. To clarify, UK airspace is not closed, we have had to apply air traffic flow restrictions which ensures we can maintain safety.” Earlier NATS assured that “engineers are working to find and fix the fault”. NATS further advises: “Please check with your airline on the status of your flight. We will provide updates on www.nats.aero for the latest news and on X – @NATS.
