Opuwo faces water disruptions
NEWS IN SHORT
NamWater announced on Sunday that water supply at Opuwo was disrupted by floods following heavy overnight rainfall.
Spokesperson Lot Ndamanomhata said flooding had significantly damaged key components of the utility’s water infrastructure, including supply pipelines that transport water from boreholes to the collector.
A NamWater maintenance team was dispatched to assess the damage and begin emergency repairs.
As a mitigating measure, NamWater has dispatched a water tanker to provide temporary relief.
Ndamanomhata said the utility is working "around the clock" to restore water supply.
