Round Table brings healthcare to Tsumkwe
ROUND TABLE BRINGS HEALTHCARE TO TSUMKWE: Round Table Namibia, through its annual Round Table Highlands 154 Medic Rush 2025, brought mobile clinics to Tsumkwe in the north-eastern region of Namibia last week. The mobile clinics were available to communities in Tsumkwe, Ben-se-Pos, N#ama and Dou between 26 and 29 May. A total of 750 patients were treated, who would otherwise have had to travel 280 km to the nearest hospital in Grootfontein.
Twenty-two medical practitioners were at hand to dispense medication and hygiene products to the patients.
“They all sacrificed their time for free to treat patients and help the community,” Round Table's Werner Wormsbaecher said.
Medicines valued at N$240 000 were dispensed, as well as basic hygiene items to prevent the possible spread of infectious diseases.
The Medic Rush is an annual initiative that aims to bring mobile medical infrastructure to rural areas in Namibia in order to provide urgently needed medical assistance. The role of Round Table Hochland 154 in the project is to organise sponsors, logistics, accommodation and catering for all doctors present.
