Imaging Centre to Partner with State Hospital for Free Breast Screening

Dr Ryan Volker has announced that the newly inaugurated Medical Imaging Centre in Ongwediva will approach state hospitals to offer free breast cancer screening for the month of October.

Speaking during a tour of the facility following its official inauguration this afternoon, Volker said October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and the centre wants to give back to the community.

He said the mammography unit at the centre is the only one of its kind in northern Namibia and is vital for the early detection of breast cancer.

"We encourage all women to come for screening in order to save more lives," Volker said.
