BREATHE EASY: Forty oximeters were recently donated to the Omnicare Trust in support of its mission to deliver quality healthcare to Namibia’s remote communities.
The donation, valued at N$58 000, was made by FNB Namibia through the FirstRand Namibia Foundation.
The donation will go towards procuring oximeters, medical devices which help determine and monitor how much oxygen is being carried in a person's blood. This information is crucial for assessing respiratory health and identifying potential issues, such as lung or heart conditions.
Speaking at the handover, FNB's Anndine Buckley, said: “This moment signifies our commitment to supporting the efforts of our healthcare heroes who stand at the forefront of our community’s health and well-being. Your dedication, compassion and expertise have been the cornerstone of our fight against health challenges.”
FNB Namibia’s partnership with the Omnicare Trust dates back to 2022 and includes ongoing financial support for its mobile clinic operations. In addition, the FirstRand Namibia Foundation has also contributed N$1.6 million in sponsorship, funding one mobile clinic.
