Youth head to parliament
The National Assembly announced that the sixth session of the Children’s Parliament is set to take place from 12 to 19 July this year. This initiative, launched 17 years ago, is a collaboration between the Namibian Parliament and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF). Before the session begins, learners will participate in an intensive induction programme and will be sworn in for a two-year term. Hon. Prof. Peter Katjavivi, Speaker of the National Assembly, praised the Children’s Parliament, stating that it is "a catalyst for change”.
