Govt describes mission as a success
President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah has concluded her maiden participation at the 80th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA80), where she pitched Namibia’s case for stronger multilateralism, peace, and investment.
Over the past week in New York, the head of state met with global leaders, international organisations, and business executives, outlining Namibia’s vision for sustainable development and inclusive growth. Her engagements, State House said, reaffirmed the country’s commitment to tackling global challenges such as climate change, food security, and health.
Nandi-Ndaitwah also took the opportunity to market Namibia as an investment destination, highlighting opportunities in renewable energy, green hydrogen, agriculture, fisheries, and tourism. She emphasised that Namibia was a reliable partner for both cooperation and business.
On the sidelines of the Assembly, the president engaged the Namibian diaspora in the United States, encouraging them to contribute to national development through innovation, investment, and community projects.
Reflecting on her trip, Nandi-Ndaitwah stressed that Namibia remained committed to unity, diplomacy, and shared responsibility in building a fairer, more peaceful world.
Government described the mission as a success, thanking the UN and international partners for their support and pledging to deepen cooperation as Namibia pursues its national and global aspirations.
