Okahandja, Windhoek join hands to tackle waste

Okahandja mayor Beatrice Kotungondo, accompanied by the CEO of the municipality, Alphons Tjitombo, and a delegation of municipal officials, paid a courtesy visit to Windhoek mayor Ndeshihafela Larandja on Monday.
The visit aimed to explore potential areas of collaboration between the two municipalities, with a particular focus on improving Okahandja’s waste management strategies.
Discussions included possible support from the City of Windhoek in enhancing cleanliness in Okahandja, establishing taxi rank shelters and providing technical assistance and mentorship.
The Okahandja delegation also toured Windhoek’s waste buy-back centre and municipal landfill to observe best practices in waste management and disposal.
