Bottlenecks hampering HPPII identified

Bottlenecks hampering the progress of the Harambee Prosperity Plan II were identified at the Cabinet Biannual Performance Retreat and solutions were crafted.This according to vice-president Nangolo Mbumba, who gave the closing remarks at the retreat which was aimed at examining the progress of the HPPII.According to Mbumba, during the retreat the urgency to have policies such as the National Equitable Economic Empowerment Bill (NEEEB) implemented speedily was stressed.“We were also informed about Namibia’s important discovery of oil and how, together with the quest for green hydrogen, these can turn our economic fortunes around positively.“In the same vein, we also heard of ongoing international developments and their potential impact on the implementation of HPPII,” he said.Mbumba said these are essential contributions, which dovetail into the imperative of the ongoing second phase of the struggle for the economic emancipation of all Namibians.“There are so many vital interventions and presentations made, however due to time limitations l cannot enumerate all of them here.”PrioritiesHe said the retreat allowed them to think collectively and refocus on the priority areas across the five pillars of the Harambee Prosperity Plan II, to create an enabling environment for post Covid-19 recovery and accelerated development.“We have not only been able to identify bottlenecks and define the risks, with a view to mitigating them - but more importantly we have, together, crafted solutions.”He said detailed and insightful progress updates and outlined were provided about the project objectives, risks, potential impacts and key considerations to unlock the implementation progress of these key projects.
