ICT Summit secures N$300 000 in pledges
The information, communication and technology ministry secured N$340 000 in cash pledges in addition to in-kind sponsorships valued at over N$100 000 during a breakfast meeting held earlier this week for the upcoming 7th National ICT Summit.
The summit will take place from 9 to 11 October.
"We are close to a million, which is what we want to reach before the launch of the event," ministry spokesperson Shoki Kandjimi said at the event.
MTC and Telecom each pledged N$130 000, N$40 000 was pledged by Multichoice and Dimension Data pledged N$30 000.
In-kind sponsorships include N$50 000 worth of airtime from OneAfrica’s TribeFire Studios and media coverage valued at N$50 000 by New Era.
Schoemans Technology pledged assistance in registering participants and events, making use of their latest technology valued at N$30 000.
Paving the way
Deputy minister of information Emma Theofelus thanked sponsors for their pledges.
"Post-Covid everyone has been convinced that ICT and digital technology are the future, but how and when to invest in that is still a question on everybody’s mind, and they do not know how to show up to make that a reality. Therefore, this year we want to make the ICT Summit a flagship event to show everybody where we need to go and how every sector is basically clothed under ICT because every single person now knows that they need to align with ICT services to prepare for the next revolution," Theofelus remarked.
The summit will serve as a platform for industry leaders, innovators, and stakeholders to explore the latest trends, exchange knowledge, and shape the future of the ICT sector.
This year's summit promises to be an exceptional event, featuring insightful discussions, interactive sessions, and networking opportunities. The following sponsorship packages are available: a platinum package valued at N$110 000, a gold package for N$70 000, a diamond package for N$50 000, and a silver package for N$30 000.
