BROWN HYENA ANSWERS
BROWN HYENA ANSWERS: The Namibian Brown Hyena Research Project has successfully fitted a female brown hyena from Baker's Bay, named Verona, with a GPS collar.
"She is frequently photographed at night by our camera traps around the seal colony. We aim to learn more about her clan: How large is their territory, and where are its boundaries? Where is the den located? How many individuals belong to the clan, and how are they related? How often do they patrol their territory and how frequently do they visit the seal colony? We hope this collar will help us answer some of these questions," the project explained in a recent statement.
The collar was sponsored by Namdeb.
