Namibia to host Global African Hydrogen Summit
News in short
Namibia is set to host the inaugural Global African Hydrogen Summit (GAH2S) in Windhoek from 3 to 5 September.
Set to take place under the theme 'From ambition to action: Fuelling Africa’s green industrial revolution', the event marks a significant moment in Africa's energy evolution. In a media statement, the Namibia Investment and Promotion and Development Board (NIPDB) yesterday said the GAH2S aims to spotlight Africa's strategic role in the global hydrogen market and facilitate crucial dialogue across policy, investment and the burgeoning hydrogen value chain.
An official international media conference on the summit is scheduled for Thursday, 18 April, in Windhoek and will be led by key figures including mines and energy minister Tom Alweendo, green hydrogen commissioner James Mnyupe and NIPDB CEO Nangula Uaandja, alongside representatives from co-conveners DMG Events and Vasco Da Gama Energy.
