Hyphen, Hardap sign MoU
NEWS IN SHORT
Hyphen Hydrogen Energy signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Hardap Regional Council on Tuesday.
Hardap governor Salomon April said: "For us, this is not just a document – this MoU represents our aspirations and hopes in action."
Hyphen spokesperson Ricardo Goagoseb explained that the agreement would lead to the establishment of a working group that will focus on promoting skills development, job creation, entrepreneurship management and social development.
Hyphen’s head of environment, social investment, and management, Toni Beukes, said the agreement marks an important milestone for both the company and the government, as it is the first agreement dedicated to local skills development, among other things.
“We recognise the skills gap across the country and will focus on specialised training and capacity-building initiatives,” she said. According to Beukes, a similar agreement is expected soon with the //Kharas Region.
