Green hydrogen roadshow heads to Kunene, Oshikoto and Ohangwena

The national green hydrogen roadshow, hosted by government and Hyphen Hydrogen Energy, continued its countrywide tour this week, visiting the Kunene, Oshikoto and Ohangwena regions.
The roadshow, which started on 18 June in Outjo, aims to engage local communities and stakeholders, sharing details about the Hyphen green hydrogen project and its socioeconomic development framework.
At the meetings’ forefront are Green Hydrogen Council chairperson Obeth Kandjoze, his team and Hyphen representatives. The sessions allow locals to understand the project's benefits and ask questions, ensuring transparency and open dialogue, a statement on the roadshow read.
The Hyphen project represents a significant investment of US$10 billion (over N$180 billion), equivalent to Namibia's annual gross domestic product. It is expected to create 15 000 jobs during construction and 3 000 permanent jobs, with a focus on employing Namibians.
