NADEET AND TEACHERS JOIN SUSTAINABLE HANDS: Over the past few weeks, several groups of teachers – from the Oshikoto, Oshana and Kavango West regions, as well as Hardap, Omaheke and Zambezi – met up for ESD training workshops through the Namib Desert Environmental Education Trust (NaDEET) Teach for ESD programme.



Teach for ESD is a teacher professional development programme focusing on integrating Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) into schools across Namibia.



Teach for ESD builds the capacity of Namibian teachers in delivering quality ESD as a cross-curricular theme throughout their subjects, leading ESD in extra-curricular activities, and promoting ESD leadership in the daily management of their school. Through Teach for ESD, teachers commit to learning, sharing, and acting with the support of a community of practice. Teachers become ESD multipliers, impacting their entire school communities through the power of ESD. The overall aim is to improve the protection of the environment through education.
