Whk Pedal Power Series invites riders to enter

Another exciting year for local road cyclists of all age groups get underway on Saturday with the first event of the 2026 Nedbank Windhoek Pedal Power Series.

This Saturday’s starting and finishing venue will be the Finkenstein Bridge on the airport highway east of Windhoek, where races will start off from 06:30. Turns at the Dordabis and Avis off-ramps will be part of the route for most categories.

 

As usual, a main focus will be on the men’s and women’s team contests featuring many of the country’s elite competitors – but provision is made for riders of all ages and abilities, including Paralympic and visually impaired cyclists.

 

Details of the main categories are as follows:

MEN’S TEAMS (06:30): Two-and-a-half laps of the route, for a 116 kilometre distance.

Open individual men (06:33): Two laps (96 km).

WOMEN’S teams and masters men (06:36): Two laps (96 km).

Open individual women and Under-16 boys (06:39): One-and-a-half laps (68 km).

Sport Women and Sport Men (06:42): One lap (48 km).

 

Mountain bike men and women, grandmasters men, master women, U16 girls, U14 boys, e-bikes men and women, para-athletes and visually impaired riders (06:45): one lap (48 km).

Grandmasters women, U14 girls, U12 boys, U12 girls, para-athletes (C1 to C5, H1 to H5), U10 boys, U10 girls (06:48): Half a lap (20 km). Registrations close today and are only done online, at https://q.my.na/7509/

 

 • All Men's Teams classification are calculated by adding its first three riders' general classification points per race as follows:

1st place – 25 points

2nd place – 18 points

3rd place – 15 points

4th place – 12 points

5th place – 10 points

6th place – 8 points

7th place – 6 points

8th place – 4 points

9th place – 3 points

10th place – 2 points

11 – 20th place – 1 point
