Women hospitalised after hippo attack

Police have reported that a hippo reportedly attacked two women at Shankara village in the Ndiyona policing area, Kavango East, on Tuesday afternoon.
The victims were among a group of six women washing clothes at the riverside and cooling off in the river when the hippo emerged.
Haingura Salome Ndumba (24) sustained multiple injuries to her right thigh, left leg and head, while Limbindo Veronica (42) suffered injuries to her right leg. Both were rushed to Nyangana Hospital for medical attention. The environment ministry\'s human-wildlife conflict unit has been notified, with investigations ongoing.
