Woman killed after jumping from a moving bus in Aussenkehr
A tragic accident in Aussenkehr claimed the life of 29-year-old Ndano Chibunga, who reportedly jumped from a moving bus-truck during a commotion and was fatally run over. Police have opened a case of culpable homicide against the driver.
According to a police report, the incident occurred on Friday along Mandundu Road near Shamwa, Block 5. The bus-truck, used to transport workers, was travelling when a fight broke out between two male passengers who allegedly pulled out scissors on each other. In the ensuing panic, passengers rushed toward the front to alert the driver, who reportedly did not stop. It is believed that Chibunga jumped from the moving vehicle and was struck by one of its rear wheels.
She was taken to Aussenkehr State Clinic but succumbed to her injuries.
The driver, a licensed Namibian male, remains under investigation as police continue to gather witness statements.
The fatality was among several violent and tragic incidents reported across the country between 10 and 12 October, according to police spokesperson Deputy Commissioner Kauna Shikwambi.

The two remaining suspects fled with the victim’s mobile phone. Both the victim and the deceased were Namibian males. Police are still investigating.
