Woman in critical condition after bow and arrow attack
A 44-year-old woman from Eexwa village in Eenhana district in the Ohangwena Region is fighting for her life after she was attacked and critically injured by a man armed with a traditional bow and arrow on Friday night.
The woman has been admitted to Oshakati Intermediate Hospital, where she is reported to be in critical condition.
Ohangwena crime investigations coordinator, Deputy Commissioner Melanie Mbuuru, said the suspect fired an arrow, striking the victim in the stomach, where it became lodged.
The victim was taken to the Eenhana District Hospital in a critical condition and was later transferred to the Oshakati Intermediate Hospital for further treatment.
Mbuuru said the reason for the attack is not known, but the police are investigating. The 32-year-old suspect is expected to appear in Eenhana Magistrate’s Court today on a charge of attempted murder.
