Shorts: SA man arrested with N$1.3m worth of dagga at Ariamsvlei
An intelligence-led operation by the Namibian Police has resulted in the arrest of a 31-year-old South African man at Ariamsvlei yesterday morning, after he was found in possession of two large bags containing 26 parcels of cannabis.
The seized drugs have a combined weight of 27,255 grams and an estimated street value of N$1,362,750. The suspect was taken into custody on the spot, and the narcotics were confiscated.
Preliminary investigations suggest that the suspect may be linked to a larger drug trafficking syndicate involving multiple individuals.
According to police, another male suspect fled back to South Africa during questioning, leaving behind both his travel document and mobile phone with an immigration officer at the port of entry.
The investigation remains ongoing.
