PUBLIC URGED TO HELP TRACE ALLEGED CHILD RAPIST: Police in the Ohangwena region have requested the public to assist in locating a 33-year-old man who allegedly raped a seven-year-old girl at Onamugolo village.
Ohangwena police regional commander, Commissioner Ottilie Kashuupulwa, said the incident reportedly occurred last Thursday. The alleged rapist fled the scene.
Kashuupulwa said the police are urging anyone with information that could assist in the apprehension of the suspect to come forward.
She said the suspect, who is a neighbour of the victim, allegedly accompanied the young girl home from a cuca shop.
“Upon reaching her residence, they entered a room where the suspect reportedly undressed the victim and raped her,” Kashuupulwa said.
