Police investigate two rapes

Police are investigating the reported rape of a 25-year-old woman at Okandjira in the Otjozondjupa region. According to a weekend police report, she was walking home from a bar at around 02:00 when an unknown man allegedly grabbed her from behind and raped her. A 20-year-old suspect was arrested shortly afterwards.
In a separate incident later that day, a 19-year-old woman with an intellectual disability was reportedly lured into a man’s house in Rehoboth where he raped her. The attack was interrupted by the victim’s guardian, who reportedly caught the suspect in the act. The suspect was arrested.
