Pensioner kills pedestrian over weekend

While driving, a 63-year-old hit a pedestrian, who reportedly died instantly on Friday at Kavango West Region’s Mahenzere village. The victim has been identified as 24-year-old Kahoha Sirungi Sebedeus, and their next of kin has been informed.

In another incident in Outapi on Friday, a suspect hit two pedestrians with their car and failed to render assistance.

According to the police, one of the victims died later at a local hospital and was identified as Klaudius Ropsalia. It is alleged that the suspect also hit another vehicle. The deceased’s next of kin have been informed.

In Ongwediva, a 31-year-old man - who was driving under the influence of alcohol - hit a 41-year-old pedestrian after a failed attempt to overtake at the Opoto location. Police said the victim sustained serious injuries to his arm and head and was rushed to Oshakati State Hospital for treatment.
