Ondangwa man arrested for alleged threats against judicial officer
A man was arrested on Friday in Ondangwa after he allegedly threatened a local judicial officer, saying, “We will kill you, lawyers and magistrates,” in a shop at the town.
Police were alerted and acted swiftly to identify and apprehend the suspect. He remains in custody and is expected to appear in court this week.
The incident comes amid heightened anxiety within legal circles following the shooting and acid attack on Ondangwa control prosecutor Justine Shiweda in October last year. She succumbed to her injuries earlier this month and was laid to rest in the Oshana Region last weekend.
