Man accused of sodomising niece (10)

A 37-year-old man was arrested this week after he allegedly raped his 10-year-old niece and fled the crime scene.
The incident took place last Tuesday at around 21:00 at Iikuku village in the Ompundja constituency.
Oshana crime investigation coordinator Frederick Ndjadila said it is alleged that the suspect came into the room where the victim was sleeping, undressed her and sodomised her under coercive circumstances.
The suspect and the victim live in the same house and the girl’s aunt reported the incident to the police.
He was initially on the run, but was arrested days later after he returned to the village. He is due to appear in the Oshakati Magistrate's Court this week.
